EFP President Advocates for Renewed Social Contract at 112th International Labour Conference in Geneva

Geneva, At the 112th International Labour Conference (ILC), Malik Tahir Javaid, President of the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP), delivered a compelling call for global collaboration and introspection on the future of labor. The conference, attended by representatives from 187 International Labour Organization (ILO) member states, is a critical platform for addressing global labor challenges and advancing the Decent Work and Care Economy.

According to Employers’ Federation of Pakistan, during his plenary address, Javaid underscored the importance of the ILO Director-General’s report which advocates for a Renewed Social Contract. He echoed the need for an international commitment to social justice, dignity, and economic security, stressing the significance of inclusive policies, reskilling opportunities, and environmental justice to mitigate inequalities.

The EFP President reaffirmed the federation’s dedication to supporting the ILO’s agenda and its willingness to work alongside global partners to implement transformative changes necessary for a sustainable labor market. This commitment highlights the pivotal role that collective effort plays in shaping policies that ensure fair and decent working conditions worldwide.
