Islamabad, The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) conducted a series of national-level simulation exercises today in Islamabad, aimed at enhancing the preparedness of provincial disaster management agencies for the upcoming monsoon season. The exercises focused on scenarios involving multiple hazards, particularly flooding and road blockages, which are common during the monsoon period.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the simulation exercises (Sim-Ex) were designed to improve the readiness and response capabilities of various disaster management bodies. The exercises also tested the effectiveness of coordination and cooperation among all agencies involved in disaster management and relief activities.
The NDMA’s initiative comes in anticipation of the monsoon season, which often brings significant challenges in terms of emergency management.
