Quetta addresses environmental challenges on World Environment Day

Quetta, On the occasion of World Environment Day, Provincial Adviser on Environment and Climate Change Naseemur Rahman Khan Malakhil highlighted the urgent environmental challenges facing Pakistan, including climate change, air, and water pollution. These issues, he noted, are impacting public health and the livelihoods of the populace but also emphasized a hopeful outlook for collaborative and sustainable practices.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting convened by Malakhil included Environment Secretary Nadeem-ur-Rehman, Director General of Environment Yasir Bazai, and representatives from various sectors. The adviser urged attendees to adopt environmentally friendly practices, such as reducing waste, promoting renewable energy, and minimizing the use of plastics. He also advocated for increased tree planting and the reduction of personal vehicle use as essential steps towards creating a greener, cleaner Pakistan for future generations.

Highlighting the significance of cleanliness in Islam, Malakhil called on citizens to be exemplars of eco-friendly behavior and to pledge to improve their local environments within the coming year. The day also featured the planting of saplings and a rally led by the Provincial Adviser, marking a commitment to ongoing environmental initiatives.
