Finance Minister Aurangzeb Discusses Economic Reforms with New U.S. Ambassador

Islamabad: In a significant meeting today at the Finance Division, Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged with Mr. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, the newly appointed Ambassador to the USA, to discuss bilateral relations and Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Aurangzeb, fresh from his trip to Washington D.C. for the Spring Meetings, shared details of the recent Staff Level Agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with Ambassador Sheikh. The Minister outlined the country’s economic reform agenda, emphasizing energy reforms, improvements in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and privatization initiatives.

Ambassador Sheikh expressed his eagerness to work closely with the Finance Ministry and committed to promoting Pakistan’s economic reforms on an international stage. He also expressed his appreciation for the Minister’s support and warm wishes regarding his new role.
