Finance Minister Commends IFC for Securing $2.5 Billion for Reko Diq Project

Washington: Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Hela Cheikhrouhou and her team in Washington. The discussions focused on collaborations in private sector reforms, energy transition, sound municipal finance, and full employment.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting also assessed the progress on Diversified Payment Rights. The Finance Minister expressed his appreciation for IFC’s pivotal role in raising $2.5 billion in debt financing for the Reko Diq Copper and Gold Mine Project in Balochistan. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that the benefits of the project also reach the local community.
