Government Cuts Petrol and Diesel Prices Amid Falling International Rates

Islamabad, The government has announced reductions in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the next fortnight, citing a downward trend in international petroleum product prices. The price of petrol has been cut by 5.45 rupees per litre and high-speed diesel by 8.42 rupees per litre.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Finance Ministry issued a notification detailing the price adjustments, which set the new price of petrol at 288.49 rupees per litre and high-speed diesel at 281.96 rupees per litre. The decision reflects the government’s response to the recent shifts in the global market, aiming to pass on the benefits of reduced international prices to consumers.
