Government Prioritizes Public Welfare, Discusses Health Challenges with UNFPA

Islamabad, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of the public as its foremost priority. His remarks came during a productive meeting with Ms. Latika Maskey Pradhan, Deputy Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Islamabad, focusing on pressing health concerns such as family planning, child and maternal nutrition, and the overarching challenge of population growth.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the dialogue highlighted the government’s dedication to addressing vital health issues impacting the populace. The UNFPA, represented by Ms. Pradhan, pledged comprehensive support and cooperation to Pakistan’s initiatives, signifying a collaborative effort to tackle significant health and population challenges facing the country.

This meeting underlines the continued partnership between Pakistan and international organizations like the UNFPA in striving towards improved health outcomes and the well-being of its citizens.
