Governor Punjab and Parliamentarians meet Prime Minister

Islamabad, June 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): Punjab Governor, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa along with Mr. Imtiaz Safdar Warriach Minister of State for Interior, Mr.Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi, Minister of State for Water and Power, Mr.Ashraf Kaira ,MPA, Mr.Tanvir Butt and Mr.Shahbaz Khosa, called on Prime Minister Raja Prevez Ashraf, and congratulated him on the assumption of the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan after his election as the leader of the House on yesterday with overwhelming majority.

The Prime Minister thanked the Governor and others adding that they would jointly strive for the cause of democracy, rule of law and the constitution as per vision of the founding father of the PPP and Shaheed Benzir Bhutto.

The Prime Minister asked them to mobilize the Party workers at the gross roots level as they were heading towards the election phase, and they should work for strengthening of democracy by making the people aware of their role in the decision making through the electoral process.

The Prime Minister said that he would soon visit the provinces of Balochistan and Punjab as the sense of deprivation in the Balochistan was wide spread and there was a need to take Baloch people into confidence with sincerity and commitment and also put in best and urgent efforts to bring them in the mainstream by addressing the root cause of their alienation.

The Prime Minister also said that he would visit all other provinces of the country including GB and AJK with a view to personally know their problems and how to assist them in order to improve the socio-economic development of the people.
