Governor Sindh Announces Safe City Project Completion Within a Year, Apologizes to Families of Target Killing Victims

Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori announced that the Safe City project in Karachi would be completed within a year. Speaking at a ceremony at the Governor’s House for the distribution of motorcycles and aid checks, he emphasized the importance of addressing street crime and apologized to families affected by target killings in the city.

According to Sindh Governor House, the Governor expressed his commitment to launching an employment scheme as part of his initiatives to support the community. He mentioned that business leaders recently met with the Prime Minister to discuss issues facing the business community, highlighting the collective effort required to drive development in the province and across the country.

Tesori noted that development can be measured by the construction of multi-storied buildings, mentioning plans to build high-rise structures around Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi. He reiterated the government’s focus on combatting economic terrorism and mentioned that foreign investment would play a key role in addressing various challenges.

During the event, the Governor addressed concerns about street crime in Karachi, stating that he had discussed the matter with the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Minister. He expressed confidence that the Safe City project, which involves using technology to enhance public safety, would be completed within a year, contributing to the city’s efforts to curb crime.

Governor Tesori apologized to the families of those killed in target killings and expressed his commitment to providing financial support to the victims’ families. He acknowledged the need for government support in such situations and pledged to continue his initiatives even if he no longer holds office.

The Governor also distributed financial aid checks to 40 people at the event. He reassured the audience that foreign investment would continue to flow into Pakistan, leading to further development and helping the country overcome its current crises.
