Gwadar Faces Increased Load Shedding Due to Reduced Electricity Quota from Iran

Gwadar: The city of Gwadar and surrounding areas in the Makran division are experiencing heightened load shedding following a reduction in the electricity quota from Iran, effective from 11 am today. This adjustment has led to significant disruptions in power supply, affecting daily activities and the well-being of residents during the peak of summer.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the local electricity provider, Cisco Gwadar, has announced additional load shedding schedules in response to the diminished power supply. The organization has cited difficulties in the transmission system as the primary cause for the unexpected power outages. Officials have indicated that the load shedding will persist if the quota reduction continues, but reassured the public that efforts are underway to control the situation and improve the power supply as soon as the quota is increased.

Cisco Gwadar has issued an apology to the residents for the inconvenience caused by the sudden and severe load shedding, especially given the hot summer conditions. The statement from Cisco also included an appeal to citizens to use electricity judiciously while the company works on mitigating the issue and exploring all possible measures to alleviate the community’s hardships during this challenging period.
