Hasina’s Extradition is Interim Govt’s Top Priority: Bangladesh

Lahore: Bangladesh says the extradition of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina from India is Dhaka’s top priority. Bangladesh interim government chief Muhammad Yunus’s press secretary Shafiq-ul-Alam said in a press briefing that Dhaka would continue its efforts to extradite Hasina to hold her trial in person.

According to Radio Pakistan, the interim government is making every effort to ensure that Sheikh Hasina faces trial in person. This development underscores the importance that the current administration places on addressing the legal proceedings involving the former prime minister.

Shafiq-ul-Alam emphasized that the government is committed to pursuing all necessary diplomatic and legal avenues to bring Hasina back to Bangladesh. The extradition process is seen as a crucial step in resolving the ongoing legal matters related to her tenure as prime minister.
