Heat wave sparks significant forest fire in Udhampur

Srinagar, A severe heat wave has led to a large forest fire on Gangera Hill in the Udhampur District of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as per local forest officials.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the forest department was quick to respond to the emergency. Bharam Dutt Sharma, the Block Forest Officer in Udhampur, stated, “The fire erupted in the morning. Upon receiving the information, we reached the spot and started dousing the fire. It is still ongoing.” The blaze has reportedly caused extensive damage, consuming large areas of forest and resulting in significant financial losses in timber and other natural resources.
