Islamabad, Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb has highlighted the transformative potential of e-governance in Pakistan, particularly through the digitization of the tax system. In a meeting with Jason Lamb, Deputy Director of Focus Country Implementation at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aurangzeb outlined how modernizing tax collection could significantly enhance transparency and boost revenue.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during their discussion in Islamabad, Aurangzeb expressed the importance of leveraging improved data sources for tax purposes. He detailed the steps needed to optimize existing data to support effective tax collection and governance reforms.

This meeting underscores the government’s commitment to implementing advanced technological solutions to improve governance and economic management across the country.
