Sialkot, September 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): His Excellency, Mohammad Azhar Bin Mazlan, the distinguished High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). His arrival was met with a warm reception extended by Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Malik, the President of SCCI, who graciously received the envoy. The primary objective of this visit was to nurture and fortify bilateral trade relations while fostering economic cooperation between the two nations.

The President SCCI led the discussion which revolved around the meticulous identification of opportunities and the prospect of growth in enhancing bilateral trade relations between Malaysia and Pakistan. A key focus was placed on exchange of trade delegations and organization of single-country exhibitions, which could be designed to serve as a platform for both countries to exhibit their products and boost trade. Moreover, the exchange of information and technology transfer was underscored as essential components in driving trade and economic growth.

High Commissioner Mohammad Azhar Bin Mazlan brought particular attention to the promotion of Pakistan’s exports, specifically halal food items and meat from Pakistan to Malaysia, aligning with the escalating global demand for halal products. Additionally, His Excellency stressed on tourism as an emerging sector with substantial potential for mutual growth. Furthermore, His Excellency conveyed a profound interest in products originating from Sialkot, with a specific focus on footballs and surgical instruments. The High Commissioner shed light on the quality of research and education in Malaysia, suggesting potential collaborations in these domains between Malaysian institutions and their counterparts in Pakistan, thus further amplifying the prospects for knowledge exchange.
