Hundreds of children await their disappeared fathers in IHK

Srinagar, June 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): While most parts of the world are observing Father’s Day, today, hundreds of children in occupied Kashmir continued to wait for the return of their fathers who have been subjected to custodial disappearance by Indian troops during the past twenty-four years.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, revealed that since 1989 the troops had subjected over eight-thousand Kashmiri youth to custodial disappearance and around 300 of those disappeared were married and had children.
The report pointed out that the unabated Indian state terrorism during the period had rendered over one lac children orphaned due to the killing of their fathers by the troops.
