Hurriyat Activists Honor Sheikh Abdul Aziz on His Martyrdom Anniversary in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad: Hurriyat activists gathered in Manak Pathyan Muhajir camp, Muzaffarabad, to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh Abdul Aziz, a former Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League and a noted Hurriyat leader.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Abdul Aziz was killed by Indian forces on this day in 2008 while leading a significant march to Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The march was a protest against the economic blockade imposed on the Kashmir Valley by BJP-RSS extremists in Jammu. The activists remembered Sheikh Abdul Aziz as a legendary figure and a fearless patriot who dedicated his life to the Kashmiri cause.

During the ceremony, speakers praised Aziz’s relentless bravery and his contributions to the struggle for Kashmir’s self-determination. They highlighted his role in mobilizing the people against the injustices faced under Indian administration and reaffirmed their commitment to continue the fight for freedom, echoing the principles upheld by Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
