IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Initiates Scholarships for Children of Police Martyrs

Lahore: In a significant move towards supporting the educational aspirations of children of martyred policemen, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has announced the issuance of scholarships worth Rs. 12.5 million.

According to Punjab Police, these educational scholarships are part of Dr. Anwar’s commitment to fostering an education-friendly environment within the police force. A sum of Rs. 2 million is allocated specifically to the children of Lahore police martyrs, with the remainder distributed among the families from other districts. The initiative extends to various police departments including PHP, Traffic Police, Special Branch, Punjab Constabulary, CTD, and Telecommunication.

Dr. Anwar emphasized that supporting the families of martyrs is a paramount concern, with plans to allocate nearly 1 billion rupees for the educational welfare of police employees’ children this year. This includes provisions for foreign scholarships to academically talented children of the police force, facilitating their study at prestigious international institutions.
