IIOJK Described as World’s Largest Open-Air Prison

Srinagar, Observers and political experts have labeled Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as the world’s largest open-air prison, accusing India of stripping away the political and social rights of the residents.

According to Kashmir Media Service, experts in Srinagar describe an overwhelming military presence with over one million personnel, making daily life extremely challenging for the Kashmiri populace. They point to continuous military operations, house raids, and wrongful arrests of young people as sources of severe mental anguish and hardship for the residents.

These experts have also highlighted the region’s status as the most heavily militarized area globally, where fundamental human rights, including the right to life, are purportedly violated daily. One political expert, preferring anonymity for safety reasons, emphasized warnings from global human rights organizations about potential genocidal conditions.
