Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan has declared that its offices will be closed on May 28, 2024, following the government’s announcement of a public holiday to commemorate Youm-e-Takbeer. This holiday marks the anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests conducted in 1998, celebrating the nation’s achievement in becoming a nuclear power.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan, all cases that were scheduled for hearing on the declared public holiday will be postponed. A new date for these hearings will be announced later. This move comes in light of the significance of Youm-e-Takbeer, a day that underscores Pakistan’s commitment to its sovereignty and defense capabilities.
