Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has stressed the need of resolving the issue of Jammu and Kashmir by implementing the United Nations Security Council’s resolutions as this issue directly affects the regional peace and security.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera TV Channel in New York, he termed Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a prison, where the rights of people are being usurped by India.
Highlighting the illegal actions of India, he said most of the political leaders of Kashmir have been under the detention especially after the August 5, 2019.
The Minister rejected Indian assertions that Kashmir is an integral part of India, saying that India deployed approximately seven hundred thousand troops in an area that New Delhi claims as its own.
