Srinagar, July 09, 2023 (PPI-OT): Indian police arrested the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Itehad-ul-Muslimeen, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari, in Srinagar, today. The Itehad-ul-Muslimeen spokesman in a statement said that Maulana Masoor Abbas was arrested by the police along with Syed Rehman Shamas and other participants of the Eid Milan (Eid gathering) that was scheduled to be held, today (Sunday).
He said that the event was scheduled to take place at a hotel located near the Kothibagh Police Station. Meanwhile, senior Shia leader, Aga Syed Muhammad Hussaini, in a tweet demand release of Maulana Masroor Ansari. He said the detention of Maulana Masroor Abass Ansari is deeply worrisome and urged the authorities to ensure his immediate release.
