Indian Policeman Dies in Firearm Incident in Jammu

Jammu: A tragic incident in the Nagrota area of Jammu district resulted in the death of an Indian policeman due to a firearm discharge.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased, identified as 46-year-old Jay Raj, son of Kaka Ram from Pauchgarian Nagroa, suffered a fatal injury from his service rifle. The incident occurred under circumstances that have led to speculation about the possibility of suicide, especially given the increasing trend of suicides among Indian forces personnel.

Jay Raj was pronounced dead at a local hospital in Nagrota, where he was taken immediately after the incident. The case continues to be under investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the discharge and whether it was an accident or self-inflicted.
