Pakistan Condemns Extremist Attack on Its Consulate in Frankfurt

Frankfurt: Pakistan has condemned an attack on its consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, which occurred yesterday when a group of extremists breached the security of the diplomatic facility, endangering consular staff.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Foreign Office issued a statement today expressing a strong protest to the German government over its failure to uphold the security obligations outlined in the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963. This international treaty mandates the host country to protect the sanctity and security of consular premises.

The statement detailed the incident as a severe lapse in the expected security measures, which put the lives of Pakistani diplomats at risk. It called for the German Government to immediately address these failings, ensuring the safety of Pakistan’s diplomatic missions and staff in Germany.
