Indian Troops Arrest Two Youths in Kathua, Escalating Tensions in Jammu Region

Jammu: In a recent operation, Indian troops have arrested two Kashmiri youths in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, intensifying the ongoing security measures in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrests occurred during a cordon and search operation conducted in the Kandi area of the district. Officials have categorized the detained individuals as overground workers for local freedom fighters, a classification often employed to legitimize such detentions.

The operation is part of a larger military deployment that includes over 4,000 troops, featuring elite para commandos and personnel skilled in mountain warfare. This deployment is purportedly aimed at countering freedom fighter activities and exerting control over the local populace in the Jammu area.
