InDrive’s Intercity Rides Surge as Lahore-Islamabad Route Leads

ISLAMABAD: inDrive, a global mobility platform renowned for its peer-to-peer pricing, has announced a significant four-fold increase in its City-to-City service across Pakistan. The service, which has gained traction among both drivers and passengers, is seeing particular demand on routes such as Lahore to Islamabad and Lahore to Gujranwala.

The company has observed a notable rise in bookings during the summer vacation period, with travel to tourist destinations like Murree up by 75% between April and June. The busiest days for travel consistently fall between Fridays and Sundays, attributed to weekend travel and short getaways.

Drivers on inDrive’s busiest route, Lahore to Islamabad, are experiencing substantial earnings, with top performers making between PKR 300,000 to PKR 350,000 per month after expenses.

Awais Saeed, Country Head at inDrive Pakistan, commented on this growth, noting a shift in how people travel and earn in the country. The platform offers passengers control over their journeys, while providing drivers with a reliable income source that often exceeds the market average.

Passengers are increasingly opting for the ride-sharing feature within the app, allowing them to carpool and share costs. This model provides a door-to-door experience without the inconvenience of station stops. Drivers benefit from inDrive’s smart matching algorithm, which helps maximize earnings by suggesting up to four passengers per trip.

Typically, city-to-city drivers complete 2 to 4 rides daily, with longer routes averaging up to 2 rides and shorter routes up to 4. inDrive’s model emphasizes negotiation of fares directly, supporting the platform’s dedication to freedom of choice and fair pricing.

InDrive’s mission extends beyond just numbers; it aims to empower individuals economically and provide freedom of choice. By offering a fair and transparent pricing model, inDrive supports micro-entrepreneurs in Pakistan, allowing them to earn on their terms, whether as a primary livelihood or as supplementary income.
