Information Minister Highlights Economic Progress Under Government Policies

Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, in a media briefing held in Islamabad this afternoon, credited the government’s “prudent policies” for the observable improvements in the nation’s economy, including a stronger rupee and a more stable exchange rate. The session, which also featured Prime Minister’s Coordinator Romina Khurshid, highlighted a series of positive economic indicators and government initiatives aimed at sustaining this upward trend.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar pointed to a significant rise in the stock exchange, describing it as a record increase, as evidence of the economy’s positive direction. He also detailed efforts to digitize the Federal Board of Revenue, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision to enhance revenue collection. The commitment to youth empowerment was underscored, with Tarar announcing plans for a comprehensive program aimed at this demographic.

Further bolstering the government’s economic achievements, Tarar referred to predictions by the international financial rating agency Bloomberg, which forecast a 15 percent reduction in the inflation rate for the next year. The Information Minister also acknowledged the media’s role in positively framing the government’s decision to privatize Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), a move considered necessary to stem the significant financial losses it has been causing to the national exchequer.

This briefing underscores the government’s efforts to communicate its economic policies and their resultant success, as well as its plans for future initiatives to ensure continued economic stability and growth.
