Interior Minister Orders Enhanced Security for Chinese Nationals in Pakistan

Islamabad, In response to concerns over the safety of foreign nationals, particularly those from China, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has mandated comprehensive measures to ensure their protection within Pakistan. The directive came during a meeting in Islamabad, focusing on the security arrangements for Chinese citizens residing or working in the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the minister emphasized the importance of safeguarding foreigners, stating that the protection of Chinese nationals is a top priority. The meeting involved discussions on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that must be strictly followed to enhance the safety of foreign visitors, with a special emphasis on the Chinese community.

Naqvi expressed concerns over the threats posed by elements opposed to Pakistan’s development and prosperity. He assured that the government is resolute in thwarting the malicious intents of terrorists and maintaining the country’s security, especially for its international guests.

The briefing also covered the specific arrangements that have been put in place to safeguard Chinese nationals. This includes increased surveillance and the implementation of more stringent security protocols around areas where Chinese citizens are known to reside or frequent.

The move reflects Pakistan’s commitment to fostering a safe environment for international visitors and strengthening diplomatic relations with China by ensuring the wellbeing of its nationals.
