International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict Highlights Health Care and Survivor Support

Islamabad, International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict is being observed today with a special focus on the protection of healthcare services and supporting survivors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the day has been marked by a call from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who emphasized the urgent need to eliminate this form of violence, support those affected, and ensure the safety of hospitals and healthcare facilities in conflict zones.

Meanwhile, a distressing report from Kashmir Media Service points to the significant impact of such violence in conflict areas, stating that over the past 36 years, Indian forces’ personnel have sexually assaulted more than 11,263 women in the occupied territories.
