Chinese Minister Liu Jianchao to Participate in Key Pakistan-China Consultative Meeting

Islamabad, Minister Liu Jianchao of the International Department of the Communist Party of China is set to arrive in Pakistan on Thursday for a three-day visit. He will co-chair the Third Meeting of the Pakistan-China Joint Consultative Mechanism of the Political Parties on CPEC alongside Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Liu’s visit follows an invitation from Deputy Prime Minister Dar and underscores the ongoing high-level exchanges aimed at bolstering the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two nations. During his stay, Minister Liu is also scheduled to meet with various senior leaders from both civil and military sectors in Pakistan.

The consultative meeting will focus on reviewing the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, evaluating their impact on Pakistan’s socioeconomic landscape, and discussing future enhancements to promote regional connectivity. This session marks the continuation of a dialogue that began in 2019 and has included meetings in Beijing and a virtual session in 2020.
