Islamabad, Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Islamabad for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties with Pakistan. President Raisi was received by Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada at Nur Khan Airbase and is joined by his spouse and a high-level delegation, which includes the Iranian Foreign Minister among other cabinet members.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his stay, President Raisi is scheduled to engage in extensive discussions with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Their agenda includes a meeting today followed by delegation-level talks aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors. Additionally, a guard of honor will be presented to President Raisi at the Prime Minister House.
The visit also features several ceremonial events including the planting of a sapling by the two leaders in honor of Earth Day and the signing of multiple memorandums of understanding that will further bilateral cooperation. Furthermore, President Raisi and Prime Minister Sharif will participate in a ceremony to name a highway in Islamabad as Iran Avenue and conclude their engagements with a joint press talk. The Prime Minister will also host a lunch in honor of the visiting dignitary and his delegation.
