Islamabad Police Arrest 32 in Anti-Narcotics Sweep, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a significant crackdown under the “Nasha Ab Nahi” initiative, the Islamabad Police have detained 32 individuals and confiscated a large cache of narcotics and weapons, reinforcing their commitment to eradicating drug-related activities in the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation followed the directives of Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to protect the youth from drug abuse. The 24-hour police action led to multiple arrests across different city sectors, with significant seizures including hashish, heroin, ice, and various firearms. Among those apprehended were Mushtaq Ahmed and Maqsood Ahmed, from whom 650 grams of heroin and a firearm were retrieved.

The operations extended across several police sectors, capturing individuals involved in diverse illegal activities, ranging from gambling to illegal weapons possession. Notably, the police also arrested 25 individuals classified as absconders or target offenders, as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities.

DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, emphasized the continuous nature of these operations, indicating that the “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign is more than a mere enforcement drive—it is a movement aimed at cleansing the community of drug peddling and abuse.
