Islamabad, The Capital Police Office (CPO) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations in Islamabad, Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari, has issued strict directives to enhance vigilance and improve law enforcement in the city, focusing on crime eradication and the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, Bukhari led a critical meeting with senior police officials to evaluate the performance of all police stations and stressed the urgency of upholding professionalism and integrity within the force. He set a two-day deadline for performance enhancement, warning of penalties for non-compliance. Efforts to mobilize the Dolphin Squad, patrol vans, and checkposts were emphasized, along with a zero-tolerance policy for bribery and misconduct.
The meeting underscored the importance of addressing public complaints promptly, particularly those related to corruption and inappropriate conduct, through a dedicated WhatsApp number. Bukhari also highlighted the necessity of proactive measures against common and serious offenses, including kite flying, aerial firing, and one-wheeling, as well as motorbike thefts and drug trafficking.
Further actions detailed in the meeting included the arrest and prosecution of professional beggars and their networks, the acceleration of legal processes for pending cases, and the implementation of more effective patrolling strategies. Bukhari reiterated the Islamabad police’s commitment to safeguarding the public’s safety and welfare as the foremost priority.
