Islamabad Police Launch Crackdown on Professional Beggars

Islamabad, In a renewed effort to address public nuisance and safety, the Islamabad Police, under the directives of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari, have launched a comprehensive crackdown on professional beggars throughout the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation over the past 24 hours has led to the arrest of four professional beggars. Cases have been filed against these individuals, and several underage children found begging have been transferred to shelters for care and protection. DIG Bukhari has instructed zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) to oversee and ensure the continuity of these operations daily.

The DIG has called on citizens to refrain from giving alms to professional beggars and to report any sightings of such individuals in commercial or residential areas through the police helpline “Pucar-15”. He reinforced that the main focus of these efforts is to ensure the protection of life and property of the residents of Islamabad.
