Japan Press Pool Service to Be Offered during East Asia Summit in Bali, Indonesia

TOKYO, Nov. 15 /Kyodo JBN-AsiaNet/ —

The Nikkei, Kyodo News, The Japan Times and The Mainichi Daily News are launching a joint English portal website from Nov. 16 to Nov. 20 to provide news reports, remarks by officials, official documents and other information for the 2011 East Asia Summit (EAS) and related meetings to be held in Bali, Indonesia.

Media organizations can access the Japan Press Pool Service website to obtain the following in English:
* news alerts and reports on the meetings as well as talks on the sidelines
involving Japan;
* top stories from Japan;
* remarks from press conferences, official comments by Japan’s foreign minister and Japanese press briefings;
* news photos;
* information and news reports on side events;
* schedules; and
* official documents to be released by the Japanese government.

To access the website, go to: http://www.presspool.jp/eas/ (Login IDs and passwords are not required.)
