JKLF Commemorates Martyrs, Reaffirms Commitment to Kashmir’s Freedom Struggle

Srinagar, The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has paid homage to a group of prominent Kashmiri martyrs on their anniversaries, reiterating the organization’s dedication to continue the struggle for the freedom of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The tribute honored the lives and sacrifices of figures like Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Dr. Abdul Ahad Gooru, Jalil Andrabi Advocate, Shabbir Siddiqui, Basharat Raza, and the martyrs of Hazratbal, acknowledging their pivotal roles in the freedom movement.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a press release from the JKLF’s Central Information Office declared these martyrs as invaluable assets to the Kashmiri people and beacons for their liberation efforts. Raja Haq Nawaz Khan, a central leader of the JKLF, specifically lauded the extraordinary contributions of these individuals, particularly highlighting the heroism of Ashfaq Majeed Wani, who was martyred on March 30, 1990.

The statement also revisited the contributions and tragic ends of Dr. Abdul Ahad Gooru and Advocate Jalil Andrabi, both known for their vocal opposition to human rights abuses in the region. Their legacies, as per the JKLF, continue to fuel the quest for justice and freedom.

Syed Shabbir Ahmad Siddiqui and Commander Basharat Raza, both of whom were killed during the Indian forces’ siege of the Hazratbal Shrine, were also remembered for their dedication and sacrifice.

In anticipation of March 30, Raja Haq Nawaz Khan called upon party members to hold prayer ceremonies and reaffirm their allegiance to the cause championed by the martyrs. The press release further denounced the ongoing acts of state terrorism by India in IIOJK and voiced solidarity with all individuals imprisoned for their pro-freedom stance, including JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.
