JKYF Hosts ‘Welcome Ramadan’ Event to Support Orphans and Needy

Srinagar, The Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Foundation (JKYF) recently organized a ‘Welcome Ramadhan’ program at its central headquarters, Baitul Hilal in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, marking the beginning of the holy month with a focus on community support and awareness.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event underscored the critical importance of societal support for orphans, widows, and the needy across all distinctions of caste, color, creed, region, or religion. Highlighting the event was Prof. (Dr.) Mushtaq Ahmad Siddiqui, former Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), who called for compassion and assistance towards the underprivileged.

He advocated for the creation of a democratic ecosystem within social service organizations to ensure the sustainability of both human and financial resources. The program aimed to foster a sense of unity and collective responsibility towards addressing the challenges faced by marginalized communities, especially in the lead-up to Ramadan.

The JKYF’s initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity and support within society, encouraging broader participation in charitable activities to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need during the sacred month and beyond.
