K-Electric deprived poor citizens of Eid Celebrations by sending them excess bill: Muhammad Yameen

Karachi, July 01, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Regional Office Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen has said that K-Electric Deprived poor citizens of Eid Celebrations to send them excess bill, whether the Poor make clothes for their children or pay the excess bill. These thoughts were expressed by him at Camp Office of Deputy Commissioner Malir while hearing of applications against overbilling of K-Electric. Muhammad Yameen said that Ombudsman Court is providing quick justice to the citizens that is why hundreds of applications are being received by the poor people.

Plaintiff of Ombudsman Court told that he is retired police inspector and lives in a three room house, only his one son is earning for which they are living hand to mouth, how could they pay excessive bill to K-Electric. Muhammad Yameen not only upended the excess amount from the K-Electric Bill but ordered to pay remaining amount in 4 installments. Applicant Sufi Abdul Ahmed told that he is sent the bill on approximation basis and he is sent an excess amount of Rs. 13455/- in allegation of stealing electricity, he said that he never stole electricity, Ombudsman Court upended the excessive bill and such provided him quick justice. Resident of Malir Erum Naz told that she lives in a quarter measuring only 40 sq. yards, her husband drives a Rikshaw, K-Electric sent her a bill of Rs. 72,000/-, she told how she could pay such huge bill even that she has not money to purchase clothes for her children.

Court upended her excess bill and ordered to pay remaining amount in installments. Woman citizen Perveen Muzammil told her story that her family is consists of only three persons, she pay a normal bill as soon as possible, but inspite of this, she was suddenly sent excessive bill, how she could pay the bill. She told more that her son works as security guard in a private company whose salary is Rs. 14000/- per month, she is a widow. Court upended her excess bill and provided her quick justice, she went back praying for Federal Ombudsman and his companions.

On complaint of excess bill from plaintiff Nasira, Ombudsman court upended the excess amount from the bill and ordered to cheque the meter and issue the bill on three months average basis. On applications from Iqbal Ahmed Siddiqui, Jibran Muslim and others Ombudsman Court announced the decision upon which they seemed to be very happy. During the hearing of the applications General Manager K-Electric Maroof Solangi, Manager Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Coordinator Waqas Ahmed and Ehtesham Ul Haq were also present.
