Karachi Deputy Mayor Prepares for Upcoming Rains, Cancels Staff Leave

Karachi, In anticipation of forecasted rainfall on April 17 and 18, Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad has taken proactive steps to ensure the city is prepared for potential disruptions by coordinating with key municipal and disaster management authorities.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Deputy Mayor Murad has been in contact with the Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority and the Municipal Commissioner to discuss the city’s readiness. In preparation for the expected weather conditions, he has canceled leave for relevant staff and issued directives for them to remain active and alert during this period.

Murad has specifically instructed the staff of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and Water Corporation to be vigilant. He also noted that machinery would be strategically placed at previously identified critical points around the city to manage any issues arising from the rains efficiently. The Deputy Mayor urged citizens to avoid unnecessary outings during the rain to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure public safety.
