Karachi Governor Launches No-Interest Employment Loan Scheme

Karachi, Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tesori, has unveiled a new employment initiative offering no-interest loans ranging from one lakh to one crore rupees, aimed at fostering self-employment and supporting business ventures across the region.

According to Sindh Governor House, the announcement was made during a press conference at the Governor House where Governor Tesori detailed the employment scheme under the Governor Sindh Initiative. He emphasized that the initiative, supported by a newly established fund, enjoys the backing of the Prime Minister and is intended to be inclusive and merit-based.

Governor Tesori called on wealthy individuals and business groups, who have already expressed their support, to contribute actively to the scheme. He also highlighted partnerships with NGOs ready to support this initiative. Furthermore, the Governor assured that experts would be involved to ensure the feasibility of business proposals submitted under this program.

In addition to the economic development efforts, Governor Tesori addressed public safety concerns, noting that efforts by the IG Sindh and the Sindh government have significantly contributed to tackling street crime, with improvements expected soon. He also praised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for his effective management as the caretaker minister of Punjab.

Governor Tesori also discussed expanding educational initiatives, mentioning that funding donors are prepared to support IT classes across six districts in Sindh, with Karachi University set to certify these courses.
