Karachi Governor Proposes Heavy Traffic Diversion on Lyari Expressway to Ease City Congestion

Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori has formally suggested to the Chairman of the National Highway Authority that heavy vehicles such as trucks and trawlers be rerouted through alternative paths like the Lyari Expressway to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. This proposal aims to ease daily commutes for residents by reducing traffic jams and saving fuel.

According to Sindh Governor House, the Governor’s letter outlined the benefits of this strategy, emphasizing improved flow and reduced commuter stress in Karachi. The proposal also seeks to address the persistent issue of heavy traffic in the central areas by utilizing existing infrastructure more effectively.
