Karachi Metropolitan Corporation finalises Independence Day celebrations for schools

Karachi, August 13 2013 (PPI-OT): Following the directives of KMC Administrator Saqib Soomro all preparations of Independence Day Celebrations have been finalized in KMC schools. Independence Day celebrations like previous years will be observed marvellously.

Administrator Karachi on behalf of the citizens of Karachi will lay wreath of flowers on Mazar-e-Quaid at 10:15am. Above 1500 students from KMC schools will participate in the ceremony on Mazar-e-Quaid on 14th August and present national songs to express their affection with the country.

Souvenirs and sweet will be distributed among patients in KMC hospitals whereas flag hoisting ceremony will be held in Civic Center at 10:45am in which officers, scouts and a good number of school students will participate.

KMC Administrator Saqib Soomro and Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui will hoist flag in Civic Center. Sanitation works have been finalized around Mazar-e-Quaid and spray of fragrance will also be performed on 14th August whereas city wardens will be deployed for guidance of citizens coming to Mazar-e-Quaid. Rally of students and scouts from KMC Education Department will visit Mazar-e-Quaid on 14th August.

KMC Administrator Saqib Soomro said that Independence Day was the day of Pakistan’s creation and we will celebrate this day fabulously. He said it was our responsibility to celebrate this day with full of national spirit and integration. 14th August reminds us those sacrifices which were given by our ancestors to achieve this country.
