Srinagar, In an innovative protest against censorship, residents of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir have taken to the streets, using posters to publicly expose and denounce the Indian army’s actions in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, these posters have been put up on poles and walls throughout Srinagar and its surrounding areas, illustrating the community’s resilience and determination to shed light on the harsh conditions under the Indian military’s presence. The posters depict instances of the army promoting Hindutva ideology and aggressive actions towards both Kashmiris and local police forces.
A specific incident highlighted on these posters occurred on the night of May 29-30, involving an Indian army unit’s raid on a police station in Kupwara district. The raid resulted in the severe mistreatment of police officers and the abduction of one officer, all of whom were inquiring into previous army misconduct. This event has drawn sharp criticism from local human rights organizations and political figures, who are calling for a thorough investigation and accountability for the involved army personnel.
