Kazakh Envoy Advocates for Enhanced Cultural Ties with Pakistan at Book Launch

Islamabad, At a ceremony in Islamabad today, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, highlighted the shared cultural and historical heritage between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, calling for deeper cultural ties through literature and the arts. The event marked the launch of the translated works of Kazakhstan’s national poet, Abai Qunanbaiuly, whose philosophies on love, humanity, and learning resonate widely in both nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Kistafin spoke at the launching ceremony of the “Book of Words� by Abai Qunanbaiuly, organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in collaboration with the National Library of Pakistan and the Embassy of Kazakhstan. The ceremony featured translations of Abai’s work into local Pakistani languages including Pashto, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Balochi, as well as a Kazakh-Urdu-English phrasebook, reflecting a significant cultural exchange effort.

The ambassador also commended the translators from the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad for their role in capturing the essence of Abai’s literary contributions in multiple languages, ensuring the poet’s messages reach a broader audience.

At the event’s conclusion, Ambassador Kistafin presented gifts of these translated works to several dignitaries, including the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, and the Director General of the National Library of Pakistan, among others, symbolizing the strengthening of cultural bonds through shared literary heritage.
