Lahore: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter spearheaded a significant rally today in Lahore, marking “Accession to Pakistan Day,” attracting diverse political, religious, and social groups, including a notable participation from women.
According to Kashmir Media Service announcement issued on 19 July 2024, the rally, orchestrated by APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi, saw a robust turnout from all corners of Lahore’s political and social spectrums. Speakers at the event emphatically stated that Kashmir remains a vital concern for Pakistan, often referred to metaphorically as the country’s “jugular vein,” and expressed their resolute stance against its control by perceived adversaries.
Ghulam Mohammad Safi emphasized the unified support from various Pakistani parties for the Kashmir cause, suggesting a consolidated national responsibility to actively resolve the Kashmir dispute. He expressed gratitude towards the participants, which included high-profile figures such as the Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Religious Affairs Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, leaders from major Pakistani political parties, and several Hurriyat leaders.
The rally not only served as a platform for expressing solidarity with Kashmiris but also reinforced the communal commitment across Pakistan’s political landscape to support the region’s aspirations for accession to Pakistan.
