Launches Special Anti-Polio Campaign in Response to Virus Spread

Sibi: In response to the rapid spread of the polio virus, The government has initiated a special anti-polio campaign named ‘Outbreak Response.’ The campaign was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Ali Asghar Magsi at DHQ Hospital Sibi, where he administered polio drops to children.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, The launch event was attended by key health officials including DHO Dr. Akbar Solangi, Dr. Rafiq Chalgri, Area Coordinator Dr. Ehsanullah, and MSDHQ Dr. Garmukh Das. The campaign aims to vaccinate 44,000 children under five years of age across the 23rd council, with 288 teams deployed to carry out the task. ADC Magsi highlighted that sewage samples from Sibi district tested positive for the virus, prompting the special campaign. He urged parents to ensure their children receive the polio drops to combat the disease. DHO Dr. Solangi also called on polio teams to work diligently and appealed to residents to cooperate by keeping their doors open for the teams.
