LCCI polls: Alliance wins woman seat unopposed

Lahore, September 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): PIAF-Founders Alliance wins unopposed one seat reserved for women in LCCI elections as no other candidate filed her nomination against the Alliance candidate. With this unopposed victory, the strength of the Alliance would reach 17 in the 32-member House while the elections on remaining seats would be held on September 23 and 24 as per schedule.

According to Alliance election office, the last date for filing of nomination papers was September 4 and by that time only the Alliance candidate Tahira Munir filed papers therefore she would be considered returned unofficially.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Lahore Township Industrial Area Association Nasrullah Mughal on Thursday called on Alliance Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar and extended an invitation for reception to PIAF-Founders Alliance in the industrial area.

Earlier, a large number of representatives of various City markets and trade Associations called on PIAF-Founders Alliance leaders including Mian Anjum Nisar, Mian Muhammad Ashraf, Iftikhar Ali Malik and Malik Tahir Javaid and assured them of their full support during the upcoming LCCI elections. The Alliance Chairman, meanwhile, called a meeting of the planning wing of the Alliance to evolve future election strategy.
