Srinagar, In a significant display of solidarity with the Palestinian people, thousands in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have protested against the Israeli siege and bombing of Gaza. The demonstrators called for an end to the violence and oppression faced by Palestinians.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protests saw participants brandishing Palestinian flags and banners with messages advocating for Palestinian freedom and unity. One of the notable rallies occurred in Budgam, orchestrated by the Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-E-Sharie Shian, which witnessed a substantial turnout including women and children.
Agha Syed Hassan Moosvi Al-Safvi, president of the Anjuman Sharie Shian, condemned the global community’s tacit support for Israel’s actions against Palestinians and called on Muslim nations to rally for the cause. Meanwhile, in Magam, District Budgam, public sentiment echoed calls for Muslim world leaders to actively oppose the silence surrounding Palestinian suffering. Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas, speaking at the event, stressed the necessity for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, immediate humanitarian aid access, the release of hostages, and the safeguarding of civilians, urging a unified stance against the occupation and blockade of Gaza.
