May 9 attackers, instigators cannot escape prosecution: Tarar

Islamabad, June 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Prime Minister Attaullah Tarar says irrefutable evidence is there against those involved in violent incidents of May 9 and no lawbreaker can escape prosecution. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said whatever happened on May 9 is a bleak chapter of the country’s history when the violent mobs of PTI attacked national institutions like Radio Pakistan and memorials of our heroes.

The Special Assistant said justice should not only be done but should be seen to be done as it is a matter of national integrity. Lamenting how courts are giving relief to PTI leaders who planned and systematically carried out these incidents, he said Yasmin Rashid against whom clear video evidence was present, was vindicated.

Attaullah Tarar said the court did not wait for the forensic audit of video and released her. He said there can be no justification for the incidents of May 9 and providing relief to these zealots means risking national security.
