Meezan Bank Chronicles Its Unseen Rise in New History Book

KARACHI: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank, commemorated the launch of its history book, “Unconventional – The Bank No One Saw Coming,” in Karachi. The event was attended by the book’s author, business leaders, dignitaries, and senior members of the bank. Mr. Saleem Ullah, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, served as the Guest of Honour.

The publication traces Meezan Bank’s evolution from a concept to a leading financial institution in Pakistan and a global trendsetter in Islamic banking. It highlights key moments, strategic initiatives, and the guiding principles that have driven its growth.

Authored by Mr. Sibtain Naqvi, an independent researcher and writer, the book offers insights into the bank’s history. Mr. Naqvi, whose work has been recognized at prestigious institutions like Oxford and Cambridge, expressed his honor in chronicling the bank’s story.

Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, Founding President and CEO of Meezan Bank, expressed gratitude to the bank’s customers and stakeholders, noting that the history book reflects the bank’s journey and offers valuable management lessons. Mr. Naqvi added that the book serves as a guide for future generations of students, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
