Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain Advocates for Women’s Central Role in Global Awareness at Cairo Conference

Islamabad: Addressing the 35th International Conference on the role of women in Cairo, Egypt, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain underscored the critical role of women in fostering awareness across multiple societal spheres.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Hussain emphasized women’s pivotal contributions to religious education, cultural preservation, societal services, and family and child development. He highlighted their transformative impact on addressing issues such as religious intolerance and promoting global peace. “As we continue to advocate for gender equality and empower women, we must recognize their achievements, ensuring their voices and efforts are valued,” he stated.

During his speech, Hussain elaborated on the importance of empowering women in leadership roles within religious and cultural discourse. He noted that women have historically been integral to religious education and remain at the forefront of theological scholarship, interfaith dialogue, and cultural preservation efforts today.

The Minister also pointed out that women are not only preserving cultural heritage but are also leading initiatives to educate others about diverse cultural backgrounds through various platforms such as museums and festivals. In societal services, women’s roles in healthcare, education, and advocacy are deemed essential for community development.

Hussain praised Egypt’s Al-Azhar University for its role in promoting Islamic scholarship and fostering a deeper understanding of the faith, highlighting the country’s contributions to enriching religious and cultural knowledge.
